A man has been charged after a serious assault on an overseas seasonal worker in Hastings.
The victim was a customer at a dairy in the suburb of Raureka about 11am on Tuesday.
He suffered serious facial injuries including a fractured cheekbone and concussion, and remains in hospital, recovering from his injuries.
Police described it as a savage, unprovoked attack, but assured the public it was an isolated incident.
