Police have confirmed three children were injured after a car crashed into a building in the Auckland suburb of Browns Bay this morning.

They are still investigating how it happened but one line of inquiry is whether the driver of the car hit the accelerator rather than the brake.
The incident is thought to have happened outside a small school on Anzac Road.
Police said the children had moderate injuries and had been taken to hospital.
