Firefighters attend small electrical fire at PWC Tower

Firefighters were called to Auckland's second tallest building tonight after an alarm was activated.

Staff were evacuated from the new Commercial Bay shopping centre on the corner of Customs Street, near Auckland's Queen Street, due to a fire.

Seven fire trucks and 28 officers descended on the PWC Tower in Customs Street West at 9pm.

Fire and Emergency says a small electrical fire was discovered on the 25th floor of the 41 storey building.

The fire was contained by the building's sprinkler system.

No one was evacuated from the tower.
