A person has died after falling from a bridge on an Auckland road, causing road closures around the SH1 link to SH16.

A person who was critically injured after falling from the Hopetoun Bridge has died.
The incident occurred after 3.30pm.
Road closures were in place around the SH1 link to SH16 for east and west-bound traffic, but have now lifted.
There was heavy congestion in the area, with traffic backed up all the way up Hobson St.
Police said emergency services were at the scene.
