A man was taken to hospital in Auckland early this morning after a police search involving the Eagle helicopter.

The incident began when a speeding vehicle failed to stop for officers in Takanini around 4am.
Police did not pursue the vehicle, but began searching in the area.
The vehicle was found abandoned and two people were seen from the Eagle helicopter hiding on the roof of a building.
As officers approached, a man slipped and was seriously injured.
A woman was arrested.
Police said they could not rule out charges being laid.
