Alpine Energy reported unplanned outages just before 8am this morning.

One was in Geraldine, affecting more than 400 homes, but power has now been restored.

The other is in the Waimate area, affecting 365 homes.

All but 17 houses have had power restored in this area.

Alpine Energy says it has crews on standby to respond to any further damage from extreme weather.
