Police believe a woman's body, found near a beach in Napier this morning, is that of a missing person.

The body was found this morning at the Hardinge Road beach area.
Formal identification was yet to take place however police believe the body was likely that of a person reported missing this morning by family.
The death did not appear suspicious, police said.
It would be referred to the Coroner.
