Four men have been arrested and three of them have been charged after a person was allegedly knocked unconscious in central Christchurch early today.

Emergency services were called to reports that a person had been 'knocked out' at the intersection of Colombo and Cashel streets, at about 2am.
Two of the three men who were charged with assault with intent to injure are 19 years old and the other is 18.
A house in Papakura at which a gun was apparently fired overnight has been cordoned off while the police investigate.
