A person is in a critical condition in hospital after a shooting in Papatoetoe in Auckland tonight.

Inspector Marty Brown said the police were called to a house in Elizabeth Avenue at about 9pm, following reports of a firearms incident.
An investigation has been launched and a scene guard will remain at the property overnight.
Inspector Brown said police were speaking to several people of interest.
No arrests have been made yet.
A forensic scene examination will begin tomorrow.
