A motorcyclist has died in a single vehicle crash at Wairakei, near Taupō.

Emergency services were called to Poihipi Road around 1.45pm today.
Police said the motorcycle rider died at the scene.
The road was due to re-open shortly after being closed for a Serious Crash Investigation scene examination.
