A woman has been charged after a baby was found dead in a hospital rubbish bin.
The baby was found at Middlemore Hospital on 4 August last year.
A police spokesperson said the 28-year-old appeared earlier this year in the Manukau District Court on a charge of concealing the body of a child.
She is next expected to appear on 8 November.
The spokesperson said they were not in a position to comment further while the matter was before the court.
