The death of a man found at a Hāwera property in the early hours of Saturday has sparked a homicide investigation.
Police said emergency services were called to an address on Albion Street about 2.30am today, where the man was located deceased.
A 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene charged with breach of bail and assault.
A female who was at the property was assisting police with enquiries.
Officers would be on site conducting a scene examination.
Police were not currently searching for anyone else in relation to the death.
