A man has been arrested in relation to a disorder incident in Upper Hutt last month which saw one person hospitalised with serious injuries.
Police responded to an alleged altercation between a group of people outside Upper Hutt Mall on 18 November.
One person was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
In a statement, Detective Senior Sergeant Martin Todd said Hutt Valley CIB had subsequently identified a suspect and a search warrant was carried out at an Upper Hutt address yesterday.
A 23-year-old man was arrested and is due to appear in Hutt Valley District Court on 10 January, 2023, charged with assault with a weapon.
Todd said local police staff had been dedicated to locating the person allegedly responsible for the act of violence.
