Police are seeking witnesses to a single-car crash in which a youth died in Whangārei earlier this week.
Police said the 2006 brown/silver Honda Civic was reported to be speeding before it crashed on Puna Rere Drive, Tikipunga about 8.50pm on 27 December.
"It overtook up to four vehicles while driving towards Tikipunga, lost control on a moderate bend, and rolled," Detective Sergeant Steve Chamberlain said.
Three people were in the car at the time, and one of them was found dead at the scene.
Police are asking the public to report if they saw the driving behaviour beforehand, or information from those who helped after the crash.
