Aucklanders woke to the sight of destruction on their roads and properties - a day after a severe thunderstorm swept across the region.

Yesterday, heavy rain and winds heavily impacted commute (including airport travel, ferries and roads) and caused land slips, flooding damage to properties, and deaths.
