One person has been found dead and another seriously injured in the Christchurch suburb of Bryndwr.
Emergency services were called to the Eden Place address at about 6.20pm.
One person was found dead on arrival.
The second person with injuries was transported to hospital.
Police are working to establish the circumstances involved with the incident.
A scene examination is underway and a guard will be in place at the address overnight.
