Two people are dead after separate overnight crashes in the Bay of Plenty region.
One person died in a single-vehicle crash in Tauranga overnight.
Police were notified of the crash on Tamatea Arikinui Drive at about 9.55pm, but the victim died at the scene.
Another person was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Kiorenui Rd, Murupara in the Bay of Plenty last night.
Police were notified of that crash just before midnight.
One person died at the scene while others were taken to hospital, some in critical condition.
The crashes are under investigation.
