A person has died after their car crashed into a tree and caught fire in Outram in Dunedin.
The single-vehicle crash was reported to emergency services about 2.20am yesterday.
It occurred at the intersection of Granton and Allanton roads.
The death has been referred to the coroner.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash were ongoing, police said.
