A woman being sought over the discovery of a man's body in the suburb of Grafton on Sunday has handed herself into police.
Police launched a homicide inquiry after the body of Daniel Otess, who was 57, was found in a Symonds Street car park about 5.20am.
Earlier this week police said they were seeking a woman in connection with his death.
Detective Senior Sergeant Steve Salton, of the Auckland City CIB, said an arrest warrant had been issued for the 32-year-old woman and this afternoon she arrived at the Manukau Police Station.
The victim's name was revealed for the first time today and Detective Senior Sergeant Salton said police hoped the woman's arrest would bring his family and the wider community some reassurance.
"The woman taken into custody will now face a murder charge and is expected to appear in the Auckland District Court tomorrow," he said.
He thanked members of the public who had helped with the investigation.
Today's development meant police were not seeking anyone else, he said.
