Queenstown police have released a photo of a man they wish to speak to in connect to a violent assault at a bar in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Just after midnight a man received a laceration to his neck, and needed medical treatment, a police spokesperson said.
The assault happened at a bar on Church Street in Queenstown.
Police said they were working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify the person responsible.
They have released an image of a man who they believe can help with their enquiries.
Early enquiries indicate the man is not from the Queenstown area, the spokesperson said.
