Two men have been arrested after a security guard was allegedly assaulted at a South Auckland supermarket earlier this month.
Police said they went to the shop on Browns Road in Manurewa on 14 May where a number of items were also stolen.
The security guard was continuing to recover at home from his ordeal, police said.
The men, aged 26 and 29, are expected in the Manukau District Court on Thursday, facing theft charges and the 26-year-old has also been charged with aggravated wounding.
