The Ruapehu Alpine Lifts boss says there has been 50cm to 60cm of snow on the mountain over the past few days.
Its chief executive Jono Dean told Morning Report the mountain has had 50 to 60cm of snowfall and there are currently teams cleaning certain areas up.
"We've been really pleased with the outcome for the start of the season, bearing in mind we're still in the first week of July."
The skifields reopened over the weekend after receiving a $5 million government bailout and narrowly avoiding closure for this season.
Ruapehu Alpine Lifts (RAL) that runs the Whakapapa and Turoa ski fields went into liquidation after creditors failed to agree on who should take over the operation.
But Dean said the liquidation would not affect the facilities or offers available for this season.
"The season pass is for this season, that's been guaranteed for us to be able to operate," he said.
"So getting on board and purchasing the season pass from RAL is still a possibility and we don't want people to miss out."
Dean said currently only learner slopes were open but all facilities would be progressively opened throughout July.
