A person has died after being hit by a vehicle in a workplace incident in Palmerston North.
Police say emergency services were called just after 4pm today and the person died at the scene.
WorkSafe and the serious crash unit have been advised.
Stuff is reporting a witness at the scene said the incident occurred at a logging yard next to a railway line.
It is the second successive day a person has died at their workplace.
On Tuesday a person died after what was referred to as a workplace incident at a premises in Balclutha in south Otago.
That death was also notified to WorkSafe and referred to the coroner.
