One person has died after a single-vehicle crash at Waimarama about 26km south of Hastings.
The crash occurred on on Waimarama Road, between Ocean Beach Road and Maraetotara Road.
It was reported to emergency services just before 2pm today.
The road was closed for several hours while the serious crash unit inspected the scene.
It has since reopened.
Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are continuing.
