Two police officers have been injured after trying to arrest a person in Auckland on Tuesday evening.
Officers tried to stop a car in Mt Wellington about 6.15pm, but the driver fled the scene.
The vehicle was chased to a property on Panorama Road, where two suspects were arrested.
One of them allegedly resisted and assaulted the officers, who were taken to Auckland City Hospital with moderate injuries.
Inspector Danny Meade said charges were being considered.
He said the officers and their families were receiving support and the investigation was ongoing.
