One person has died after a crash in Waikato, early on Sunday.
Police said only one vehicle was involved in the collision, in Harris Street in Huntly.
It was reported just after midnight, and the road was blocked through the early hours as emergency services worked at the scene. But police said it had re-opened by 8am on Sunday.
A homicide investigation has been launched after a man died from a serious assault in the Bay of Plenty town of Ōpōtiki on Friday.
A woman has been arrested and charged with murder after a man's death in Upper Hutt on Friday.
Police are in touch with activists planning to lead marches on Parliament next week, and have "set clear expectations for peaceful and lawful activity".
