Police have located the owner of a kayak found today off Raumati Beach on the Kāpiti Coast, around 60km north-west of Wellington.
Officers were earlier trying to establish if anyone was on board the kayak at the time it upturned.

LandSAR volunteers helped police search the Kāpiti Coast shoreline.
The kayak is not related to the Michaela Ledger missing person case or any other current missing person cases police have conducted searches for in the past.
