Two house fires on the same Christchurch street are being treated as suspicious.
Fire crews were called to Northcote Road about midnight and again at 4am on Monday.
No one was in either property at the time and it was unclear whether the fires were linked.
Police said there was a fire in one of the houses last week which remained under investigation.
A scene guard had been in place overnight and investigations were continuing.
