A gang fight that broke out in Christchurch Hospital's Emergency Department has resulted in one arrest.
Police said they received a report about 8.15pm on Wednesday that four Mongrel Mob gang members or associates had an altercation in the waiting room.
A spokesperson said one person was assaulted and another was taken into custody.
Te Whatu Ora Waitaha Health Canterbury said none of its staff were injured in the fight.
It was not the first time gang members had caused problems at Christchurch Hospital.
Mongrel Mob members had previously blocked off carparks outside the ED and intimidated other hospital visitors.
