A person has died in a crash on State Highway 1 in Otago.
Police were called to the single vehicle crash on the Milton Highway about 12.45am on Friday.

A second person in the car was seriously hurt and taken to hospital.
State Highway 1 between Lakeside Road and Moneymore Road was closed on Friday morning to allow police to examine the scene.
A detour was in place, Waka Kotahi said.
The road re-opened around midday, police said.
In a separate incident, a cyclist has died in a crash in Warkworth.
Police officers were called to the scene at the intersection of Falls Road and Mansel Drive just prior to 7am.
The cyclist died at the scene after colliding with a vehicle.
The road was closed and police said diversions were in place at the intersections of Hudson Road and Falls Road, and Viv Davie-Martin Drive and Falls Road.
