A man has been critically injured after a late-night stabbing in the Auckland suburb of Papakura.
Police say they were initially called to an incident involving wilful damage at a Parker Street address.
A police spokesperson said shortly before midnight, paramedics told them a man had been stabbed at the same address.
The injured man was taken to hospital while another man was arrested at a nearby house.
Officers are carrying out an investigation into what happened.
A 63-year-old man will appear in Manukau District Court on Tuesday, facing charges of wilful damage and wounding the injured man.
