Two people have been injured after a home-built helicopter crashed on the eastern coastline of Northland.
Emergency services were alerted to the crash at Uretiti near Waipu at 12.15pm.
The New Zealand Herald reported that the crashed aircraft was a home-built kit helicopter, and two people had been taken to hospital with moderate injuries.
In a social media post, Waipu Volunteer Fire Brigade reported four fire engines from Waipu, Ruakaka and Mangawhai had been sent to the crash site.
