The Detail, a daily news podcast produced by Newsroom for RNZ, has added another award to its growing list of accolades.

It was awarded best daily news and current affairs podcast at the annual Radio and Podcast Awards in Auckland on Thursday night. It has previously been recognised as a winner in last year's Radio Awards and at the Voyager Media Awards.

Kim Hill, who last year departed after two decades as host of RNZ's Saturday Morning programme, was also recognised at this year's awards as a joint winner of Best Talk Presenter - Non-Breakfast or Drive.

David Allan, who retired as RNZ's head of radio last month, was recognised for his services to broadcasting over several decades in the industry.

The Sir Paul Holmes Broadcaster of the Year was Bevan Chapman, the morning host for More FM in Gisborne and Wairoa. Chapman was on air and kept local communities updated and connected via radio during the deadly Cyclone Gabrielle event last year.

Newstalk ZB won station of the year, and podcast of the year was awarded to Tom Sainsbury's Small Town Scandal.

News or sports journalist of the year went to Newstalk ZB's Aaron Dahmen. Three RNZ reporters - Anusha Bradley, Craig McCulloch and Louise Ternouth - were finalists in the category.

The full list of winners from the event run by the Radio Broadcasters Association (RBA) will be published on its awards website.

It follows RNZ wins at the Voyager Media Awards in May.
