Three people have been injured after being hit by a car in Ponsonby, Auckland, in what police are calling a "mass disorder" incident.
A man got into a vehicle on Heke Street and allegedly hit three people with it, before crashing into a pole, Inspector Jason Homan said.
Police were notified around 10.20pm.
One person received moderate to serious injuries, and two people have since been discharged from hospital after they received moderate injuries.
A hospitality worker on Ponsonby Road said the fight broke out at a nearby bar and started with just two people, but quickly evolved into a brawl.
It spread to both sides of Ponsonby Road and was an unusual sight for the area on a Saturday night, the witness said.
A 24-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was due to appear in the Auckland District Court on Friday on three charges of injuring with intent to injure.

Ponsonby Business Association general manager Vivienne Rosenberg said the fight was concerning.
The association would meet with hospitality venues on Monday to find ways of reducing alcohol-related risks, she said.
The brawl came just over a month after a man was shot dead on the street on a Sunday night.
Police said Killer Beez member Hone Kay-Selwyn shot Robert Sidney Horne, 33. The two men are not believed to have known each other.
Kay-Selwyn, the son of film-maker Don Selwyn, was later found dead in the Taupō area.
