Firefighters are investigating the cause of a large fire in a Taupō house.
The two-storey house on Tuwharetoa Street was unoccupied when the blaze broke out just after midnight on Monday.
Crews from five fire trucks extinguished it within about two hours, before it spread to any other buildings.
Firefighters remain at the scene this morning to dampen down any hotspots.
