A person has died after a serious crash on State Highway 1 in Manawatū early this morning.
Emergency services were called to the two vehicle crash in Himatangi where the person died at the scene.
The Serious Crash Unit are in attendance and the road would be closed for some time, police said.
Diversions were in place and drivers were being asked to avoid the area.
