One person has died following a crash on Morrinsville-Tahuna Road on Saturday.
A second person was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
The crash, involving two cars, was reported to police just after 1pm.
The road remains closed around the crash scene.
Diversions are in place at the intersections of Morrinsville-Tahuna Road and Quine Road, and Morrinsville-Tahuna Road and Paeroa-Tahuna Road.
Police said a vehicle was reported to have left the road and hit a power pole on State Highway 50 in Fernhill late on Friday night.
The three people were found dead at the scene on State Highway 1 in Hunterville this afternoon.
