Covid-19 update: 2003 new cases, 15 further deaths

There were 2003 new cases of Covid-19 reported in New Zealand over the week to Sunday, and 15 further deaths attributed to the virus.

Of the new cases, 1201 were reinfections.

There were 126 cases in hospital, none of whom were in intensive care.

The highest number of new cases were in Canterbury, followed by Waitematā.

The case numbers were higher than last week, when Te Whatu Ora reported 1768 new cases and 16 further deaths were attributed to the virus.
