A train travelling from Waikanae to Wellington has been hit by a rockfall as heavy rain pelts the region.
There were reports of flooding across Hutt City, Featherston, Silverstream, Trentham, Porirua, Waiwhetu, Whitby, Stokes Valley and Naenae on Monday morning.
Meawnhile, passengers could hear rocks hitting their train while going from Paekakariki and Pukerua Bay. There have been no reports of injuries.
Heavy rain warnings were in force Monday morning for the lower North Island.
