A second downpour may be heading towards Wellington as roads and garages flood around the region.
MetService says there is a possibility of another heavy burst of rain between 3pm and 6pm on Monday.
It comes after reports of flooding across Hutt City, Featherston, Silverstream, Trentham, Porirua, Waiwhetu, Whitby, Stokes Valley and Naenae on Monday morning.
Meanwhile, a slip is blocking off a community of about 50 homes in Greymouth.
