Ticketek has told concert-goers the venue for the Home Brew show in Wellington is changing.

The group was set to perform at Wellington's under construction venue Meow Nui on the 7 September.

But Ticketek says "due to unforeseen circumstances, the opening of Meow Nui will be delayed."

It apologised for the inconvenience.

Ticketholders were told on Tuesday Home Brew would now be playing at the Great Hall in the Old Dominion Museum building at Massey University.

Home Brew's promoter Anthony Metcalf said they decided to switch venues.

"As we are now aware of the full extent of the delays to venue completion Home Brew's September 7 show will move to The Great Hall on Massey campus downtown Wellington. The show is now sold out, but all existing tickets are valid and will be transferred automatically for the same great Home Brew show."

"We appreciate the Wellington community really stepping up to support the delivery of this event in a fluid and changeable environment and look forward to hosting many more great events at Meow Nui in the future," Metcalf said.

When RNZ asked about the extend of the delays to Meow Nui's part owner Damien Jones, he said was not able to comment due to commercial reasons.

Indie pop group The Beths are currently still set to play at Meow Nui at the end of September.

The location change comes a day after RNZ's story on Meow Nui's delayed opening where Drax Project was scheduled to kick off the venue's first show on Friday.
