Emergency services are responding to a serious crash on State Highway 2, next the Auckland southern motorway exit to Tauranga.
Hato Hone St John said they were called to the crash, near Dobson Rd between Pokeno and Mangatawhiri, just after 10am on Friday morning.
Police said one person was seriously injured and another had moderate injuries after the two-car crash.
NZ Transport Agency / Waka Kotahi said the road was closed between State Highway 1 at Pookeno and Koheroa Road, Mangatawhiri.
Motorists should avoid the area or expect delays.
