Two people have received minor injuries after a small two-seater plane crashed in Tauranga.
Emergency services were called to Tauranga Airport just before 5pm on Monday.
Police said the pair had been transported to hospital.
The Civil Aviation Authority said it was investigating the accident to determine whether any further action was required.
Tauranga City Council said the crash had caused minor damage to the airport runway which was being repaired and it was expected to be operational again on Monday evening.
There may be some impact on flights this evening and tomorrow morning and the council advised travellers to check for updates from Air New Zealand.
