Skinny and 2degrees were once again found to be the top mobile phone providers in the country in an annual survey.

Consumer NZ's survey found One NZ (formerly Vodafone) came in last in the customer satisfaction survey.

Consumer chief executive Jon Duffy told Morning Report about 2000 people were surveyed.

"Consumers are perceiving (2degrees and Skinny) as really good value for money."

For One NZ customers billing accuracy was a big , Duffy said.

People also wanted better ways to manage their usage he said.

"With ongoing cost-of-living pressures, value for money remains a priority. But no matter their personal needs, all customers expect reliable coverage and responsive support from their providers," Duffy said.

Survey results

Skinny scored 77 percent satisfaction in the survey, with most customers happy with the clarity of its contract terms and the value for money provided.

Skinny also ranked highest for customer support and billing accuracy.

2degrees had 71 percent satisfaction in the survey, with customers rating the technical support and value for money.

The company was awarded the People's Choice award.

Spark, Warehouse Mobile and One NZ were fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

One NZ customers were the least satisfied, with an overall satisfaction score of 58 percent, the survey found.

People were particularly unhappy with One's customer support, bill accuracy and helping customers manage their data usage.

Kogan Mobile received high satisfaction rating, but as its parent company was under investigation by the Commerce Commission, the company was ineligible for Consumer's People's Choice award this year.
