Police are going door to door in a neighbourhood as they seek more information on the death of Shane Edwards whose remains were found in a rural area near Tokoroa last month.
The 45-year-old father of four was reported missing in May 2022.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ryan Yardley said officers were still seeking key information about his death.
"Police staff will be going door-to-door in the Mossop Road area today to talk to residents as part of our ongoing investigation."
As well, specialist staff and search teams would be combing the area where his body was found.
"This remains an active and sensitive investigation, and police are following up all leads based on information the public has provided us to date," Yardley said.
"We are committed to understanding the circumstances of Shane Edwards' disappearance and death."
He appealed for anyone with information to get in touch by calling 105 using the reference number 240308/6198.
Information can also be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
Edwards' mother told RNZ last week she was relieved her son's body had been found.
Timua Brennan told RNZ her son's whānau now has closure after the confirmation, however, the family still had many questions about his disappearance and death.
