A man accused of conning victims out of thousands of dollars of cash and goods has been arrested.
Police allege the 31-year-old had defrauded 18 victims of up to $200,000 worth of vehicles, goods, cash and services since June.
The man was arrested in Tauranga on Saturday.
Sergeant Sam Watson of the Retail Crime Unit said he hoped the arrest was reassuring to victims and the wider public.
There are few people who can afford to lose cash or goods worth thousands of dollars without feeling a significant impact, he said.
The man is due to appear before the Tauranga District Court on Monday.
