State highway 30 is blocked at Rotoiti after a serious crash involving two vehicles.
A significant detour is in place with SH30 closed between Tikitere (SH33) and Kawerau Rd West (SH34).
Motorists traveling north from Rotorua will need to take State Highway 33 between Tikitere and Paengaroa, before utilising State Highway 2.

NZTA says the crash took place just west of Tamateatutahi St, beside Lake Rotoiti.
It advises people to delay their journey or allow extra time for a long detour.
Police say there are serious injuries after the crash which happened just before 11.40am.
Hato Hone St John says one ambulance and one primary response in medical emergencies responder has attended.
One patient in a moderate condition was taken to Rotorua Hospital.
