The Police National Dive Squad are still searching the Waikato River in Hamilton for a man believed to have jumped off a bridge on the weekend.
A police spokesperson said they were advised on Saturday night that a man had jumped off the Pukete Bridge into the river and could not be found after briefly resurfacing.
Police and Fire and Emergency New Zealand undertook an extensive search of the water and riverbank and Land Search and Rescue were deployed Sunday.
The spokesperson said police know the identity of the man they are searching for but will not be releasing it yet.
