Ten people hurt as hot air balloon crashes into Otago fence

Emergency services have responded to a hot air balloon crash Otago.

Police say they were alerted to the crash at Queensberry near Wanaka shortly after 8.30am on Wednesday.

St John treated 10 people at the scene, all with minor injuries, and no ambulance transport was required.

Fire and Emergency (FENZ) said the balloon crashed into fences before landing in a paddock.

A spokesperson said a crew from Luggate responded to what it described as "a rough landing".
