Fire and Emergency responded to a campervan and hay bales on fire in Christchurch early this on Friday morning.

A FENZ spokesperson said they received reports of the fire in McLeans Island at about 3am on Friday.

It took four stations - Christchurch Airport, Redwood, West Melton, and Rolleston, which provided a tanker - almost two hours to extinguish the blaze.
